About Me.
Hi! I’m Olivia Bobadilla, a senior at New York University studying an individualized major in Consumerism and Sustainability in Fashion and Art with a minor in Fashion Studies. My concentration explores the intersection of environmental studies, marketing and consumerism, and a blend of art and fashion history. I have also made a commitment in my time at NYU to properly understand industry sustainability standards and terms.

I spent the academic year of 2024-2025 in Madrid, Spain where I broadened my global perspective and strengthened my comprehension of EU fashion regulations and norms. At the end of my time abroad, I was able to attend the Textile Recycling Expo in Brussels, which was particularly influential to my research in textiles going forward and the pursuit of my internship the following Fall at FABSCRAP. Spain also allowed me the opportunity to research traditional art; I attended the Prado every week in school for a class, and to familiarize myself with the local street style. I gained fluent Spanish comprehension and work everyday to improve my speaking to a level of full fluency.

Professionally, I've worked as a Sales Associate at Gabriela Ceballos for two years, where I use styling and creative direction to build jewelry customers love and create customer relationships. I've alloted over 75 positive Google reviews across store locations, and was featured in a promotional NBC Online interview for the brand. Previously, I interned at Isaboko, where I was given the freedom to manage creative work, assist in sewing projects, and complete marketing tasks like creating linesheets. I also recently interned at FABSCRAP where I closely studied textile makeup and pricing, assisted in media publications, and recorded data on client relationships. Additionally, I spent two years volunteering at the Sustainable Fashion Community Center in Harlem.

To strengthen my industry knowledge, I've completed the LVMH online certificate program studying Creation & Branding, Operations & Supply Chain. I am also currently working on completing a LinkedIn Learning Excel course.

For additional NYU engagements, I have previously worked as a writer and stylist for the NYU publication VisMajor, and am the Events Team Lead for NYU's sustainable fashion club, Future Fashion Group. As the Events Lead, I am responsible for distributing tasks to the events team, creating the events schedule, budgeting, booking club spaces, and communication with all partnerships.

I also have been a fashion designer for several of NYU’s fashion shows, where I have designed a mix of upcycled and original garments. As an artist who prioritizes sustainability, I have sourced materials for all my collections off of waste-material.

Just to say a little more about myself, in pursuit of my hobbies I have also previously worked as a horseback riding instructor at Girl Scouts of Orange County Camp Scherman.
